“The entrance strategy is actually more important than the exit strategy”
— Edward Lampert
There’s nothing like a roaring cheer from your nearest and dearest when you’re announced for the first time as Husband & Wife.
It was all a bit of a blur for Jay & I on our wedding day (I know, I know….it doesn’t look like it in the photo), but I’ve never felt more uplifted, supported and encouraged by my loved ones before in my life.
When choosing our Entrance Song, Jay & I picked a song that said….this is definitely “The Smiths”. We connected & bonded on our love of funky soulful tunes intertwined with deep house – so Stardust’s ‘The Music Sounds Better With You’ was an easy pick! We also used to sing this song to each other, because once we met…. the music definitely did sound better with the love of my life.
So, choose an entrance song that screams you and your fiance! Make it undeniably your musical flair. If it’s a little niche or off centre, who cares! It’s your day, it about you and who you are together.
Sometimes it’s hard to think about songs you’ve had a connection with together or even songs that signify a special moment, but I’m sure if you’re open to the experience, the right song will be revealed to you.
When DJing at weddings, my favourite Bride & Groom entrances have been when the couple have chosen a song that represents them and their love for each other. You can feel the connection to the music and the love in that moment in the air – it’s electric (especially when I time the announcement of the Bridal Party perfectly with the crescendo or the chorus – which we can coordinate on the day for you).
